ADC stands for Antibody-Drug Conjugates, a type of bioconjugate molecules made with an antibody linked to a cytotoxic drug. Antibodies are proteins produced by the immune system that can specifically bind to a target antigen on the surface of cells, while cytotoxic drugs are chemicals that can kill these cells.
The main goal behind the ADCs is to minimize the toxicity and side effects of chemotherapy drugs, by targeting only the cancer cells.
